Alberta Roney future educators scholarship

The Elevating Faith Ministries Scholarship is open to:

• High school seniors who are graduating in the current academic year and plan to enroll in an accredited college, university, or vocational school for the upcoming academic year. Applicants should demonstrate a strong academic record.
• Current undergraduate students enrolled full-time or part-time in an accredited college, university, or vocational school, who are looking to continue or further their studies. Applicants must be in good academic standing.
• Applicants must demonstrate financial need, which will be assessed through submitted documentation (e.g., FAFSA Student Aid Report or equivalent financial statements).
• Applicants must embody the values of Elevating Faith Ministries, showing a clear commitment to faith, active community service, and academic excellence. This includes participation in church activities, volunteer work, and maintaining a commendable academic performance.

A personal essay (minimum 3 pages in length), submitted to firstladyrose@elevatingfaith.org. This essay should eloquently detail:

• Your educational journey and the challenges you overcame to gain admission to university.
• How your faith has profoundly impacted and guided your academic path.
• Your compelling reasons for choosing to become an educator.
• Your vision and concrete plans for impacting the lives of your future students.
• Specific examples of how you are currently working to change the lives of those around you.
• Interview (for finalists): Selected finalists may be invited for a virtual or in-person interview.

Scholarship awards are designed to provide crucial financial support for your academic journey, helping to alleviate the financial burden often associated with higher education. The award for this cycle will be USD 250 or the equivalent in Kenyan Shillings, distributed to recipients in the second week of January 2025. These valuable funds can be strategically used to cover various essential educational expenses, ensuring you can focus on your studies and thrive. Specifically, the scholarship can be applied towards:

• Tuition and fees: This includes the core cost of your courses, as well as any mandatory fees levied by your educational institution.
• Books and supplies: From textbooks and e-books to lab materials and necessary software, these funds help ensure you have the resources required for your coursework.
• Room and board (on-campus or off-campus): Whether you're living in a dormitory, an off-campus apartment, or contributing to household expenses while studying from home, these funds can help cover your living costs.
• Other approved educational expenses: This category is flexible and can include costs such as transportation to and from campus, necessary technology (e.g., a laptop for studies), specialized equipment required for your program, or other direct costs essential to your academic pursuit.

The specific amount awarded to each recipient will vary based on a comprehensive assessment of demonstrated financial need, the applicant's academic merit, and the overall availability of funds within the scholarship program. Our goal is to provide meaningful support that makes a tangible difference in your educational experience.

Dear sir/madam,
Firstly ,i thank you for selecting me to be part of the higher education students who are  considered in your scholarship program .
I started my education journey back in the lower primary where i learned for for four years later on i excelled and moved to upper primary where i learned from Grade four to eight, after finishing my primary national examination i scored good and i was selected to one of the national schools in our country ,the school by the name kisii school. During this time it become difficult to my parents because the school fees was seventy eight thousand Kenya shilling yearly. My parents worried how it will be while i was about to join my form one but by God's grace i was successfully joined in that school, reaching form three the place where my father used to work got burnt by fire which was caused by electricity so he went jobless.As God is not like man luckily i was talented in handball, i stayed home for one month waiting for my mother to look for  money to pay for my school fees,my team coach realised that i was not in school and we were to represent the school in our county games he called me, i explained to him my status and he faced the school principal, told him about my situation and being that i was the best in the team also a captain he accepted to help me my form 3 and form 4 school fees. That is how i got my scholarship and finished my secondary examination.Last year when our final examination released i was among the students who did well and i was selected to join the university .I was selected to join university of eldoret like four hundred kilometres from home indeed God's hand was with me and by faith,I came to realise everything is possible.
In our country we had the strike for the lecturers and we went for weeks without having classes this really affected our education programmes we did not do our final semester examination,we will do them as from 7th January next year.but in every unit i take we have done random tests of fifty marks,i have been posting outstanding performance in those tests.
I choose to be educator in my university studies because for teachers you keep on discovering new ideas,new innovation,new things and also you interact with different students who have different capabilities. I being a handball player also the skills i have i would like to teach other glowing talents, nature them in future for them to be outstanding and even reach higher levels than us .i the field of education here in our country their are many gaps where we future graduates need to fill , Many school are being established and tha population of the country is keeping rising.
My wish for my future students is to be educated, filled with knowledge and be Innovators since education is the equaliser of the poor and the rich,If i will have the opportunity to help someone to get education in future i will do so.
Since i joined the university,26th August this year i have influenced eight students to join Christian union students where we have prayer meetings every day for thirty minutes.we are dedicated by the word of God and where we are we know he his with us. Our mission is to bring disciples from all nations to spread the gospel. I did not leave my talent i continued playing handball in the university, i found there are two teams in our university the academy team and the main university team. Due to my outstanding in the field i was selected to be the captain of the academy team, also am a player in the senior team.This week we were privileged to represent our country in east Africa games were we emerged to be in the second position. I really represent my university not only in our country but also outside our country.
